Craig’s tasting

I forgot to do the aroma test on this one and went straight for the taste test and my first impression was wow! what a very average beer. It left that not so good aftertaste.

But the more I sipped the more I liked. Soon I was talking about being able to easily put a six pack away. Then I was talking about how I should take a trip to Germany for Oktoberfest.

What sort of beer is it? The sort that you can get to the bottom of without realising it.

Why does it better as you go? Could be the alcohol taking effect but I don’t think so. It really just gets better.

My final word: Obviously there must be something good about this beer. It has been brewed in one form or another for 700 years. It is a fresh but not clean taste. I guess you could say it has a very good body. Only it’s not quite the Jennifer Hawkins of the beer world.

Danny’s tasting

I was slightly prejudiced when tasting this as I'm sure in years past I've had a bad experience with Lowenbrau. This may have more to do with quantity consumed then quality of the beer.

Anyway I was pleasantly surprised when a glass came my way. It had everything you wanted in a lager, something cold you could throw down quickly and repeatedly. The only negative if it could be called that was that it didn't stand out from its peers to any great degree.

It's the beer drinking equivalent of cuddling your wife as opposed to your girlfriend....... Still very nice but lacking a certain specialness.
