Bitburger Premium

The Bitburger brewery was founded over 160 years ago. By German standards this makes it a toddler when compared to some of the other major brewers. This beer claims to be the No 1 draught beer in Germany and of course claims the usual hoppy taste. The Premium version is one of the three headline beers the company produces.

May appeal on random occasions. Not all the time

Craig’s tasting

“Bitte ein Bit” is the slogan for this beer. The translation of this is “a bit please”.

Having tasted this beer a few times because it was on special at the bottlo I feel I am ready to give it the smoko taste test.

Why won’t I ask for a Bit? At the end of the day I am not sure if this beer is up to the task of satisfying many Australian drinkers

What could make me ask for a bit? It would appeal more as a summer beer. I am sure the taste would improve after a hard day of digging holes. Next time I spend a day doing this I will reach for the Bit to continue this experiment.

The best part about a Bit: It is correctly priced in the market, trying to charge top dollar for this would see the beer quickly disappear off the face of the planet.

My final word: Just short of average. It has its place but not necessarily in my fridge.

Whilst the packaging stated this is Germany's number 1 draft beer a visit to their web site suggests this is a Pilsener.

Ah ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This explains my first impression (refer other comments concerning Pilseners).

You get the impression that it is as good as the price you're paying for it. Suffice to say it is inexpensive. So without going on about it, unless you've won lotto you could do much better spending your hard earned on almost anything else.
